Of Rights and Resistance
In an exhibition “Rights and Resistance” commemorating the 50th anniversary of the assassination of American Civil rights leader, Martin Luther King Jr.
Participants in this exhibition were asked to create a piece of work in response to the theme addressed by this anniversary; Rights, Race, Revolution and Resistance.
Making connections with contemporary contexts I decided to explore the roles of inequality still evident and very relevant within our society today. Exploring the opinions of the LGBTQ+ Community, positive and negative, on the effects social media has had on their experiences and if they think it is helping or hindering in the fight towards equality in todays society.
