Spacemaking and Wayfinding - Creating a Sense of Space
How does ‘sense of place’ play a role when designing a space and how is it manifested for large scale events within cultural entertainment?
This Graphic Arts Research Project discusses the significance of wayfinding within the context of graphic design. Exploring the origins of wayfinding and why it has such a strong influence on our sensory experience of the visual world. Observing how people interact within spaces where signage is particularly prevalent. Wayfinding’s influence within our cultural entertainment is discussed, along with its connection with urban design, architecture and placemaking. Exploring its cultural and technological impacts and why it remains just as important as ever it did, in our lives today.
